Formal Image (Click here for Past Performances)
ADOPTED!!!!
Formal Image (Buck) is a four year old dark bay gelding by Formal Gold (Black Tie Affair). Buck only raced 4 times and never hit the board so was
deemed too slow for racing by trainer Tony Diaz. Tony donated both Buck and his stablemate Jet Iron to Neigh Savers. Buck comes to us uninjured and very
frisky and ready for a new career. He is 17 h/h and is a distinct possibility for retraining in show, possibly as a HJ, Eventer or Dressage horse. We
will evaluate him after he settles into farm life as he arrived straight from the track at Golden Gate Fields. His last posted race was March 11, 2011.
Thank you Tony for allowing Buck a second chance rather than sending him down the claiming ranks and into an uncertain future. Buck first raced at Hollywood
Park in two $40,000 maiden claiming races (meaning he was valued at 40K). This is a really nice horse with tons of potential!
Buck is seen on his first day at the farm with volunteer Brittany McClanahan.
We would like also to acknowledge Lolita Raquiza, Owner-Managing Partner, of Y-Lo Racing Stables who is the owner-breeder of Formal Image. Lolita and her stable
made a generous donation to help with Buck's transition. This rarely occurs and we were so surprised and delighted as the check came so unexpectedly. After
speaking with Lolita we learned that Y-Lo makes a concerted effort to find good placements for all their prior horses and helps if placed with a third party. We
applaud owners and responsible breeders like Y-Lo Racing Stables and fully support them. Thank you!!!
Update: January 2012
Buck is enjoying life at the Travis Air Force Base having been adopted by Sargeant Master Lena W., a 16 year air force veteran. He lives in the spacious
equestrian center on base and is spoiled by all that attend to him. His friendly personality and good looks have won him many admirers.
