Halfa (ARG) (Click here for Past Performances)

ADOPTED!!!!

"Halfa" is an Argentinian bred mare and is 13 years old. She is an iron horse as she raced until the age of 11. Indeed, she even raced after being in foal. She is quite classy and was blacktyped in stakes races in her native Argentina. Halfa raced a total of 34 times and earned about $35,000.

Kim von Disterlo of Kimberlee Farms went to the feed lot where killer buyers take all unclaimed horses and haul them to Mexico for slaughter. It is so unfortunate and such a cruel fate for these horses to end up at auction. We want to thank Caroline Betts of SCTR that assisted us with the auction and bidding. Kim was there with her own horse trailer and transported Halfa to her facility.

Update - April 2012

Halfa has been transferred to our facility at Bear Creek Stables and will be trained by Jenny Whitman. Jenny describes Halfa as being very quiet and believes she will make an excellent trail horse. Halfa is sound, has all of her shots and just had her feet done and her teeth floated. She is a very pretty mare. We are training her to be a trail horse and she will be available for adoption around August 1, 2012.

Update - July 2012

Halfa has been adopted by Neigh Savers volunteer trainer Marla Sharlow and will reside at Bollinger Ranch along with rehabbing rescue Adam Suances and the recently adopted Prime Time Player (Player) and ex racer Zeus (Positive Trend). Congrats Marla!!
